Marketing Your Business 11/27/2011
Well as you can see I haven't blogged in a while. The main reason is trying to get my business started. It takes a lot of effort to get a business off the ground especially in this difficult economy. Some have the money to start their business and are able to weather any storm. But what about those (of us) that don't have that capital backing them. Well I have found that word of mouth is just as powerful as money maybe even more so. I carry business cards with me where ever I go. I always have an "ear" out for anyone that says they need a flyer, or brochure, or even a website. Even when I don't speak to someone I am always looking around at ways I can market my business including bartering. Sometimes an individual or small business doesn't have the capital it needs to get a website so, depending upon what they offer, I suggest a trade. It works because they get what they need, I get my name on the website and we both agree to refer each other. That's word of mouth and sometimes that can lead to better paying jobs down the road. A friend of the family, like me, has been out of work for a while and decided to start his own business. As a website and graphic designer I created everything he needed to launch his business without it looking homespun. As agreed he would refer me to anyone he knew and he did. I ended up with a website job that paid more then I had ever made before. Think about what works best for you and how you want to get your business out there. If you are able to barter then do so; if you can donate to a non-profit do so. Do whatever it takes to get your name out there (even if you don't have a lot of money). Good luck with your business and if you need assistance don't hesitate to contact me. Add Comment First Post! 08/22/2011
Welcome to my website and blog. I cannot guarantee I will write everyday but I will certainly try. Today is the first day of the week and it's hot here in Arizona, again. Feeling quite "dizzy" lately but I have been working on so many projects that I am unsure if it's the heat or the projects that is making my head spin. Work is work and eventually the rewards will be there. "Quote" of the Day: No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever.
